Aki and the Magical bullroarer is the children book of the exhibition Archaeomusica: the sounds and musics of Ancient Europe, created by the EMAP (www.emaproject.eu), a research and culture project where research and cultural institutions all over Europe promote music archaeology and create awareness on European musical heritage. Together with Aki, a little Chalcolithic girl, children can discover the diversity of European musical instruments, from Antiquity to the Middle Ages. With the help of a very special instrument—a magical bullroarer—Aki and Ras the dog travel through space and time to gather songs and musical instruments to bring new music to her tribe.
